About this test
Derive new conclusions from true premises by naming and chaining the classical Rules of Implication — Modus Ponens, Modus Tollens, Hypothetical and Disjunctive Syllogism, Constructive Dilemma, Simplification, and Addition. A genuinely different skill from II's Rules of Replacement (which substitute equivalent expressions): these rules derive brand-new statements toward a target conclusion, the other foundational half of formal natural deduction taught in every introductory logic course.
